Mundaring Arts Centre has invited sixty-one established, mid-career and emerging Western Australian artists to think inside the box and create small, intimate artworks contained within identical wooden boxes - tied up with string.
Tied Up With String is not only a fun and exciting way to connect with the local artistic community and acquire a new work, but also a fundraiser, with proceeds split between artists and the arts centre. As a not-for-profit community organisation, Mundaring Arts Centre has nurtured the arts in Perth’s eastern region for close to 50 years and can continue to do so with your support.
56 boxes are for sale sight-unseen, for the affordable price of $300.
Upon purchasing a box, you will receive a unique number to randomly match you with your new artwork, drawn out and revealed at The Great Unboxing event. The open artworks will be on display at Mundaring Arts Centre for the community to enjoy, 21 November until 20 December.
Imagine the feverish excitement when the numbers are called, the boxes are opened and each artwork is revealed. The Great Unboxing is an invite only event, as a purchaser, you can watch the elation and envy as each purchaser is paired with an artwork and new relationships are formed. This is an event you will not want to miss!
