Shire of Mundaring Art Collection survey

Celebrating 40 years of creative practice and the enduring contribution of local artists who document the artistic and cultural shifts of the Shire of Mundaring.

Since acquiring its first artwork in 1986, the Shire of Mundaring has supported local artists and craftspeople by presenting an annual acquisition exhibition. Held in partnership with Mundaring Arts Centre Inc., this event has provided an opportunity for local artists and audiences to come together in recognition and appreciation of the community’s outstanding creative talents.

Marks for Mundaring* presents a selection of artworks acquired between 1986 and 2026 that respond to the natural and cultivated environment of the Perth Hills, sharing works that explore ideas of place, ownership, loss, displacement and belonging.

The Collection works will be displayed alongside ephemera, publications and works for sale by Collection artists

*Marks for Mundaring is the title of a series of three quilted banners created by the community for the inaugural Shire of Mundaring Invitation Craft exhibition held in 1985, the precursor to the first acquisition exhibition in 1986.
