mundaring ENVIRONMENTAL ART PROJECT 2018
This annual environmental art project provides an opportunity for primary school children in the Shire of Mundaring to engage with local and global environmental issues and promote a positive message about the importance of protecting the earth.
THEME FOR 2018: PLASTIC POLLUTION - Finding solutions to reduce our footprint
We have all heard the three “R’s” ‘Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle’ but what does it ACTUALLY mean for everyday life?
Students are asked to investigate what changes can individuals make to minimize the harmful effects of plastic on our planet?
Students will investigate the impact of plastic pollution and how we can each make changes to help shape a more positive future, for a healthier Earth.
TO TAKE PART IN THIS PROJECT STUDENTS
- Research the 2018 topic PLASTIC POLLUTION - Finding solutions to reduce our footprint
- Create an artwork / design on A4 paper based on their research
- Submit A4 banner designs to Mundaring Arts Centre by 5pm Friday 27 July, to be exhibited at Mundaring Arts Centre from Saturday 4 August - Sunday 16 September.
16 prizes will be awarded to 8 winners in the lower primary category & 8 winners in the upper primary category with their schools receiving a monetary prize.
Highly Commended book prizes are also awarded to students with exceptional entries.
Winning entries will be displayed as banners in the Shire of Mundaring.

THURSDAY 2 AUGUST - Winners & Highly Commended students notified (via school)
SATURDAY 4 AUGUST - SUNDAY 16 SEPTEMBER - Exhibition at Mundaring Arts Centre (MAC) 7190 Great Eastern Hwy Mundaring
TUESDAY 14 AUGUST - FRIDAY 17 AUGUST - Winners paint their banners at MAC
THURSDAY 6 DECEMBER 3.30PM - Banner Launch
