Danny will explore the many tricks writers utilise to create 'little stories about big things'. This fun and interactive session uses a guitar and a set of juggling balls to look at rhythm and rhyme, pace and mood in texts.

Aska, experienced illustrator of picture books, graphic novels and comic books will guide students in designing their own characters, based on a set of traits selected on the day.

In the session students will learn how to think on their feet, sketch quickly and focus on idea development rather than a final product. All levels of drawing ability are welcomed. Some writing will be involved. Lively discussion, group brainstorming and giving constructive feedback to peers will be encouraged.
