Using the basic principle of line-making and repetition, Dragica Milunovic investigates how a simple rule of layering within space can create complex results.
Inspired by aerial views – of parched landscapes, fissures on Antarctica and patterns on a beach made by the continuous movement of waves – Milunovic closely observes lines and patterns in nature, and some manmade lines, such as grids.
The process begins and ends with a small line. Repeated over and over, the lines become stylized imprints. When a layering effect is achieved it results in irregular patterns, creating a sense of vibration within the works.
Open Wed to Fri 10am – 5pm, Sat and Sun 11am – 4pm
